  • Alcohol is the most commonly used substance among teens. Children diagnosed with ADHD have been found to be more at risk for using alcohol in their teen years than their non diagnosed peers.

  • The risk for using drugs in adolescence is higher for teens with ADHD . Of adolescents referred for substance abuse disorder treatment roughly one third have ADHD. Variety of drug use is also increased among them.
